Contractor: ISG
Architect: KKS Strategy
Approx. Value: £1m - £1.5m

The new London Headquarters for Withersworldwide is a truly modern office, mixing contemporary design elements with more traditional features over their three floors to achieve a vibrant and welcoming feel.

Withers placed great emphasis upon staff wellbeing in their new office, and this is evident in the flexible, KKS designed workspace, in fact, they are the first City law firm to go fully agile.

We are delighted to have contributed a number of bespoke joinery items to this high-end commercial project. Including, but not limited to: stained and veneered oak wall panelling of different varieties throughout, bright banquette seating across the warm and welcoming client lounge, a feature burr oak desk, bespoke meeting rooms and several personal quiet rooms with acoustic fabric panelling. The overall scheme a perfect place for client and employee privacy in a busy London environment.

High gloss and lacquered timber features heavily across the 58,000 sq ft fit out, a perfect example of the mix of both modern and more traditional elements. For example, our carefully crafted reception and concierge desks, partition fin walls, television walls, break out areas and back painted glass tea points play a big part in creating the bright and functional look that our clients were aiming to achieve.

This was a truly excellent project to work on and was nominated for a prestigious BCO Award.

“Thorpes worked with KKS on the fit out of 20 Old Bailey for Withers’ new offices in London in an extremely collaborative way, enabling the clients and KKS’s vision to be realised successfully and efficiently.

Thorpes coordinated the selection of veneers for the project which were an exemplary example of figured oak. The finish of the oak was special as it was matt with a slight whitewash, so the veneer appeared extremely clean in appearance with no hint of yellowness”
